Hi, I’m Samantha — the heart (and often the hands full of flowers and coffee cups) behind The Novel Bloom.
The Novel Bloom was born out of a deep love for creativity, connection, and a desire for a different kind of life. Before opening these doors, I spent over a decade owning a traditional flower shop. I adored the art of floral design and the way flowers could transform a moment — but over time, the pace of weddings and events began to take its toll.
For years, I measured success by numbers: how many weddings I could take on, how much revenue I could hit, how booked my calendar looked. And while my clients were wonderful and my work beautiful, I found myself exhausted, unfulfilled, and craving something more sustainable — something that brought me joy again.
One night, sitting on the floor of my closet, I asked myself: “What do I really want? What do I love?” The answers came easily — flowers, books, coffee, and creating a space that brings people together. That’s when the idea for The Novel Bloom began to bloom.
What if I could combine all the things I loved into one space? A place where people could slow down, sip a really good cup of coffee, browse a shelf full of stories, and still enjoy the beauty of fresh flowers. So I started researching, planning, and dreaming. And once the idea took root, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

We’re still a full-service flower shop at heart, but adding coffee and books changed everything. It allowed me to take on a manageable amount of floral work and pour my energy into creating a space that feels welcoming, inspiring, and full of heart.
Owning a business will always come with challenges, but changing my model changed my happiness. Weddings are beautiful, but coffee can be remade. Flowers can be rearranged. Books can be reread. There’s joy and grace in that kind of do-over — and that’s the pace I’ve learned to love.
When you walk through our doors, I hope you feel that. I hope you slow down, smell the flowers, sip your coffee, and find a book that speaks to you. The Novel Bloom isn’t just my business — it’s my second chance, my creative outlet, and my love letter to the Savanna community.
